About MCPRank

MCPRank is an independent ranking and directory of Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers. MCP is an open standard that lets AI applications such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code connect to tools, data sources and workflows. Anyone can publish a server, so quality varies a lot. MCPRank exists to make choosing one less of a guessing game.

What we are building

We are organising MCP servers by category (developer tools, databases, browser automation, productivity and more) and scoring each one on the same published methodology, so comparisons are fair and every score can be traced back to evidence.

Current status: rankings are launching soon. No server on this site has a score or a rank yet. Until the first rankings go live, the blog covers reviews, comparisons and practical notes about the MCP ecosystem.

How servers will be judged

Servers will be assessed on six published criteria: maintenance activity, documentation, security and auth model, transport support (stdio and HTTP), client compatibility and community adoption. You can read the details in the methodology.

Independence

Rankings cannot be bought. If a listing is ever sponsored, it will be clearly labelled and kept separate from the scores. MCPRank is not affiliated with Anthropic or with any of the projects it lists.

Who runs MCPRank

MCPRank is operated by jecrs687, based in Malta. If you want to learn MCP from the ground up, our sister site MCPRank Guides publishes practical guides to installing, building and securing MCP servers.
